Vans is excited to announce a brand-new collaboration with PaperGirl, the sisterbrand of legendary Parisian café PaperBoy Paris.
Founded a decade ago, PaperBoy is the place to be seen in Paris – IYKYK. Vans x PaperGirl is the latest in café owner James Dridi’s and partner Jeanne Gutierez’s growing list of collaborations. It emerged from their desire to make something special for women, and they’ve teamed up with Vans to create perfect polka dot shoes for the entire family.
The hero of the collection is the LX Old Skool, also available for mini-me’s in youth and toddler size. The Vans x PaperGirl Old Skool reimagines the durable suede and canvas uppers of our legendary Sidestripe shoe in the equally iconic PaperGirl polka dot. It’s also found on the insoles and signature rubber waffle outsoles, and the PaperGirl logo sits across the heel counter. There are three sets of laces to choose between: white or pink with dipped glow-in-the-dark aglets or black adorned with the PaperGirl logo and petal pink aglets. The toddler version swaps out traditional laces for double hook-and-loop closures for extra comfort and ease.
Alongside the trio of Old Skools, the collaboration also includes the Vans x PaperGirl Authentic 44, inspired by the white Authentic worn by the girl in the PaperGirl logo, which sparked the collaboration. Constructed with a simple low top, lace-up profile, this classic shoe’s sturdy canvas uppers are a blank canvas the kids can customise – just like they do with crayons on the placemats at PaperBoy. The PaperGirl polka dot print and logo refresh the insoles and signature rubber waffle outsoles, and the woven Vans logo gets a makeover with the PaperGirl font. To celebrate the partnership, Vans and PaperGirl will come together for a community activation at PaperBoy’s Parisian hub and café with waffles, giveaways and their signature food and drinks, as well as a skate jam at the iconic skate spot at Place de la Bastille on July 20th.
